Biography: William Renshaw

WILLIAM DAVID RENSHAW


William was born in Liverpool and served in the Royal Navy as a Mechanical Engineer. George V was a midshipman on his last ship. William fought in the Boer War, in South Africa, where he was attached to Lord Kitchener's retinue.


It was here he met and married Alice Emilia Chittenden in 1903 and raised seven children. William and Alice toured South Africa showing movies with the first movie projector in that country. He worked as a mining engrineer at the Geldenhuis Mine for many years before moving his family to Canada in 1925.


He died twelve years later.
